Viva Air, a leading low-cost airline in Latin America, will become the first airline in the region t​o benefit from a new suite of wireless data loading technology from Teledyne Controls to further improve the efficiency and dispatch ability of its fleet, increase the speed of uploading new software and navigation databases (NDBs), and streamline maintenance processes.

The 50 new A320ceo/neo aircraft will feature Teledyne Controls' proven suite, including its Flight Data Interface and Management Unit (FDIMU), which is the industry standard for data acquisition on Airbus aircraft, and the Application Generation Software (AGS) tool to maximize Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) capability.

They will also feature Teledyne's Loadstar® Server Enterprise (LSE) to manage the configuration, storage and electronic distribution of software parts to individual aircraft, and the enhanced Airborne Data Loader (eADL) that allows software parts to be electronically distributed and loaded across the entire fleet.

Viva Air's data distribution and loading process will be automated even further with Teledyne's GroundLink® Comm+ system (a wireless quick access recorder and communication device) that provides cellular wireless connectivity between LSE and the eADL. The GroundLink® system is installed and operational on more than 14,000 airplanes worldwide. Viva Air will also be the first airline in the region to subscribe to Teledyne's new SIM Service to provide a single point of contact for the solution, including the necessary data plan.

With the eADL connected via Ethernet to the GroundLink® Comm+ system, software parts can be wirelessly transmitted from the LSE ground system directly to the eADL's internal mass memory. From there, at the operator's command, the software parts can be loaded directly to the target LRUs. This ensures that the latest version of software is installed, while reducing data loading time and eliminating the need to reproduce, distribute and load countless floppy disks each month.   Additionally, this keeps human intervention to a minimum and gives operators the ability to load their aircraft at multiple hubs, increasing their on-time dispatch performance.

The LSE software will enable Viva Air's flight operations to have a complete overview of the status of every aircraft in its fleet: Flight Ops can see which software parts and databases have been loaded remotely, which is not only vital for daily operations but also critical for providing a complete audit trail.

Viva Air, aerolínea de bajo costo líder en América Latina, se convertirá en la primera aerolínea de la región en beneficiarse de la tecnología inalámbrica de Teledyne Controls para la carga datos y así aumentar la eficiencia y habilidad de despacho de su flota, aumentar la velocidad para cargar nuevo software, bases de datos para navegación (NDBs) y aerodinamizar los procesos de mantenimiento.

Las 50 nuevas aeronaves A320ceo/neo contarán con la suite comprobada de Teledyne Controls, incluyendo su unidad de grabación de datos de vuelo (FDIMU por sus siglas en inglés), la cual es el estándar en la industria para adquisición de datos en aeronaves Airbus, y la herramienta AGSIV para maximizar la capacidad de su software ACMS.

También contarán con Loadstar^® Server Enterprise (LSE) de Teledyne para la gestión y configuración de su flota, almacenamiento y distribución electrónica de partes de software en aeronaves individuales. Adicionalmente, estarán equipados con el dispositivo enhanced Airborne Data Loader (eADL) que permite distribuir las partes de software electrónicamente y cargarlas a lo largo de toda la flota de aeronaves sin importar su estación de mantenimiento.

Los procesos de carga y distribución de datos de Viva Air serán automatizados aún más con la ayuda del sistema GroundLink^® Comm+ de Teledyne (dispositivo inalámbrico para la trasmisión de datos de vuelo) que provee conectividad celular inalámbrica entre LSE y el eADL. El sistema GroundLink^® ya se encuentra instalado y operando en más de 14,000 aviones alrededor del mundo. Viva Air también será la primera aerolínea en la región en suscribirse al nuevo Servicio SIM de Teledyne para proveer un solo punto de contacto para la solución, incluyendo el plan de datos correspondiente.

Con el eADL conectado vía Ethernet al sistema GroundLink^® Comm+, las partes de software pueden ser inalámbricamente transmitidos desde el sistema en tierra LSE directamente a la masiva memoria interna del eADL. De allí, al mando del operador, las partes de software pueden ser cargadas directamente a los sistemas deseados. Esto asegura que la última versión de software sea instalada, mientras se reduce el tiempo en cargar datos y se elimina la necesidad de reproducir, distribuir y cargar innumerables disquetes cada mes. Adicionalmente, la intervención humana se reduce al mínimo y ofrece a los operadores la habilidad de actualizar las aeronaves desde cualquier aeropuerto, aumentando su rendimiento.

El software LSE permitirá a los operadores de Viva Air tener una visión general del estado de cada aeronave en su flota: Los operadores pueden ver cuales partes de software y bases de datos han sido cargadas remotamente, lo cual no solo es vital para las operaciones diarias sino crítico en proveer una vía completa para auditorías.
