Teledyne Redefines the Aircraft Data Ecosystem with GroundLink® Edge Computing Platform Certified on Boeing 737
AI-ready, open edge computing platform delivers operator-controlled application hosting, cloud managed infrastructure and 5G connectivity
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., August, 2026 — Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies
Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) and a leading provider of aircraft data management and connectivity
solutions, announced the launch of the GroundLink® Edge Computing Platform (ECP) and AppLink cloud
service, following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval
for the Boeing 737 aircraft series. For the first time, airlines can deploy, update and scale onboard
software applications across their fleet remotely, without aircraft downtime, hardware modifications or
aircraft-level certification for each new application. Every aspect of the system is managed by the
operator via Teledyne's AppLink cloud service.
This initial certification marks a significant milestone in bringing a new, software-defined aircraft data
platform to one of the world’s most widely operated commercial fleets, with certification on other
aircraft types to follow.
GroundLink ECP shifts beyond traditional standalone avionics and Aircraft Interface Device (AID)
architectures to deliver an open onboard edge computing environment, integrating 5G cellular, Wi-Fi,
Ethernet and ARINC 429/717 interfaces with an ARINC 679- and OCI-compliant application server.
Operators can remotely deploy and manage applications developed internally, by Teledyne or by third parties, with consistent performance across fleet types.
“The launch of GroundLink ECP represents a transformative step forward for our customers and for the
industry,” said Mehrdad Radmehr, President of Teledyne Controls. “By giving operators direct control
over onboard applications, ECP unlocks new ways to improve operations, support flight crews and
accelerate innovation. We look forward to bringing GroundLink ECP to operators across the full breadth
of the aviation market.”
ECP's open architecture removes barriers to innovation by enabling airlines to rapidly deploy and scale
AI-driven and IoT-connected applications that improve operational efficiency, enhance real-time
decision-making, and accelerate digital transformation initiatives across the fleet.
