Teledyne's Training Analysis System, or TAS for short, has undergone an extensive R&D and beta test program at the US Navy's flight crew training site at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA. The design and test of the system has been conducted in line with the Navy's Human Factors program, which is focused on the proper measurement and analysis strategies aimed at evaluating crew performance and procedure execution (SOP) based upon captured flight data from flight simulators.

For both Civil and Military applications the TAS software tool set has been designed to automatically calculate norms and deviations in training and produce reports containing descriptive statistics on populations of data for the purpose of refining training curriculum and assessing relative student, class and instructor performance trends.

Emphasis is not just on aircraft maneuver and discrete tasks or "event" exceedances but also execution of procedures / SOPs.
