Teledyne Controls and Airbus Announce New Flight Data Monitoring System in Hong Kong

LOS ANGELES - March 8, 2002 - Teledyne Controls and Airbus will be demonstrating their new generation Flight Data Monitoring System, at the 1st Airbus Flight Operations Monitoring & Safety Development Conference in Hong Kong on March 12, 2002, organized in co-operation with Cathay Pacific. The new product is based on the Airbus Line Operating Monitoring System (LOMS) and the Teledyne Flight Data Replay and Analysis Systems (FLIDRAS) products. This system is designed to support airline maintenance, flight operations and safety management programs by monitoring routinely collected flight data in support of preventive/corrective actions that assist in reducing flight operations incidents. It enables airlines to maintain their flight operations monitoring programs and harmonize them with regulatory agencies' recommendations and requirements, including Amendment 26 to ICAO Annex 6 Part 1, JAR-OPS1, and FAA Flight Operations Quality Assurance Program, 14 CFR Part 13.

The Flight Operations Monitoring Conference provides a forum which includes sharing flight operations for monitoring concepts to help improve proactive and reactive approaches to safety. Attendees include: Directors of Operations, Chief Pilots, Fleet Managers, Technical Pilots, Training Instructors, Flight Safety Managers and Officers, as well as professionals actively involved in flight operations' Flight Data (FOQA) and Human Performance monitoring. This conference is aimed primarily at Asia, Mainland China, Middle East, Australia and Russia. The Conference has been structured to encompass the flight operations monitoring concept, status of regulations and international programs, and presentations of operators' experiences.
