Teledyne Controls Unveils Upgrades to the MagnaStar® C-2000

LOS ANGELES - December 13, 2001 - Teledyne Controls, a Teledyne Technologies Incorporated company (NYSE: TDY), announced upgrades to the MagnaStar® C-2000. The MagnaStar® C-2000 will provide a second CEPT-E1 digital interface port to support additional communication channels. Availability of the second CEPT-E1 feature is planned for second quarter of 2002.

The second CEPT-E1 port feature is designed to facilitate the interconnection of multiple MagnaStar® Air- Radio-Telecommunication Units (ARTU) to increase the number of simultaneous air-ground channels without modification to existing MagnaStar® cabin installations. Interconnecting MagnaStar® C-2000 ARTUs through the Second CEPT-E1 will double the MagnaStar® system's channel capacity to 4 voice channels. In addition, the implementation of the second CEPT-E1 port will allow for connection of the new High Speed Data (HSD) SATCOM System to the MagnaStar® cabin Local Area Network (LAN) in the future.

The MagnaStar® digital airborne telephone system brings integrated airborne telephone service to business aviation aircraft, using the Verizon Airfone digital air-ground telephone system or optional SATCOM connections. The MagnaStar® C-2000 offers this full-featured communications capability exclusively through Teledyne's Airborne Office Services.
