CASA Orders Teledyne Controls' Mini-Flight Data Acquisition Unit (MFDAU)

LOS ANGELES - June 23, 2000 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Electronics and Communications, announced today that Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. (CASA) has placed a $600 thousand order for Mini-Flight Data Acquisition Unit (MFDAU) systems. The MFDAU systems are for use on Spanish Air Force C-295 military aircraft. Delivery is scheduled to begin October 2000.

Teledyne Controls' MFDAU processes mandatory data acquisition, as required by the current FAA and European JAR-OP requirements. The lightweight MFDAU, designed for future data acquisition, plays an active role as an intermediary device, acquiring and processing mandatory aircraft and engine data for storage in the flight data recorder commonly referred to as the aircraft's black box. When installed with the Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) option, and Teledyne Control's Telelink™ datalink system, the MFDAU provides the means to transmit real-time critical aircraft-condition information to the ground for data analysis.
