LOS ANGELES, CA - March 17, 2005 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that national carrier Turkish Airlines has selected Teledyne Controls' Flight Data Interface Management Unit (FDIMU) for installation on its new Airbus A319/320 and A330 fleet of 36 aircraft.
Dr. Temel Kotil, Ex. VP Technical, indicated that Turkish Airlines will be using Teledyne Controls' fully integrated and multi-functional FDIMU to perform flight data acquisition, aircraft condition monitoring and data recording." Additionally, Teledyne Controls' AGS (Application Generation Station) will assist the Turkish carrier to manage the FDIMU applications.

Teledyne Controls' FDIMU is a compact integrated data acquisition and recording system available for new and retrofit installations on the Airbus Single Aisle A319/A320/A321 and Long Range A330/A340 aircraft families. Based on Teledyne's concept of LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) Compression , the FDIMU combines into a single LRU the multiple functions of traditionally separated systems. By fulfilling the functions of the Flight Data Interface Unit (FDIU) used for mandatory data acquisition, the Data Management Unit (DMU) that performs engine/aircraft condition monitoring, and the Digital Access Recorder (DAR), the FDIMU can literally replace up to three LRUs, allowing operators to reduce weight, wiring and rack space, and resulting in significant savings on initial equipment cost.
The Application Generation Station (AGS) from Teledyne Controls is a PC-based software tool designed to manage and customize the applications hosted by the FDIMU and all other Teledyne data acquisition and management units. The AGS allows operators to easily reprogram various functions, such as defining the aircraft parameters to be acquired, monitored and/or recorded, establishing reporting routines and customizing interface screens.
